$500 Grant Awarded to Washington Caldwell Band Program!
***Thanks to Runzheimer International and the Runzheimer Foundation, our band has been awarded a $500 grant to support its program! Through this money, we have been able to purchase microphone stand clips, concert music, a classroom wireless microphone, pay for the bus to WASBF, as well as make some necessary repairs to the concert sound system. Please thank Runzheimer during our Spring Concert!***
Beginning Band in 5th Grade:
In May, 4th graders will be able to decide whether to take band and will try out instruments before selecting one. All 4th graders are encouraged to take band and see how fun it can be! Before the school year ends, an instrument rental night will be held for students needing to rent an instrument. A small number of instruments are available from the school and we work with Cascio Interstate Music to provide the rest. During the summer, student taking band in the coming fall should sign up for Summer Band which is run by the Waterford Graded School District. Mr. Schroeder as well as other teachers get students up and going on their new instrument and ready to start band in the fall when school begins. Summer Band is a great opportunity and lots of fun!
Summer Band:
Even though it seems like a long way off, Summer Band is something families should think about considering summer sports, vacations, and other commitments. Summer Band 2016 will be held at Fox River Middle School the week after school is over in June until Mid-July (exact dates TBA). Summer Band offers students the ability to take private lessons over the summer, continue playing their instrument, take "music electives," and even be in the Waterford 4th of July Parade! More information about Summer Band will be coming!
